Dodge City Gang Member Sentenced to Ten Years
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A member of the Norteno gang in Dodge City has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for conspiracy, racketeering and discharging a firearm while committing a crime. In a plea deal with prosecutors, Russell Worthey, admitted his role in the 2009 plan to murder of Israel Peralta. Peralta of Dodge City was shot multiple times outside a mobile home park and died from his injuries.
Worthey is one of 23 people already indicted in May 2012 under a federal law called the RICO Act (Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Another defendant Anthony Wright will be sentenced on February 10.
