Senator Moran Fights UN Treaty on Guns
Washington D.C. (westernkansasnews.com) US Senator Jerry Moran is worried your constitutional right to keep and bear arms is at risk. At odds is a United Nations Arms Treaty that sets international standards for conventional weapons like tanks, but could also extend to handguns and rifles. Moran has concerns on how the current agreement is written.
The treaty’s final language will be determined this spring. Moran’s legislation would prohibit the Obama Administration from negotiating an international treaty that deliberately infringes on a person’s second amendment rights. Up to 50 members of the Senate have joined Moran in this fight.
