Former Bank Employee Pleads Guilty to Embezzling Funds
Ulysses, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A former bank employee at Western States Bank in Ulysses has pleaded guilty to embezzling money from the bank she worked at and staging a robbery to cover up the theft.
According to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom, from 2008 to 2010, while Amber Gutierrez was head teller, she and two former employees of the bank took off with an estimated $84,200. Sentencing for Gutierrez is February 4th. 29 year old Ashley Cravens is expected in court later this week. 33 year old Hattie Wiginton will appear Dec 17th.
