YMCA of Southwest Kansas hires Aquatics & Dome Program Director

Garden City, Kan. – The YMCA of Southwest Kansas recently named Stacy Castoe Aquatics and Dome Program Director for the Garden City branch.

Castoe served as Garden City Family YMCA Fitness Director from 2006-2013. According to CEO Chad Knight, Castoe’s knowledge of the YMCA’s mission and values, and her overall work ethic and positive attitude, were the key factors in the hiring decision.

“Stacy made a big impact in her previous role at the Y,” Knight said. “She’s a dedicated and dependable team member, and she doesn’t shy away from a challenge. We know these programs are in the right hands with Stacy.”

Castoe recently took over the duties of former Aquatics Director Keali Shelton, as Shelton left to take a teaching position with the Holcomb School District. Castoe will also help facilitate all programs at the new Dome Family Activity Center, which is expected to be open shortly after Labor Day.

Castoe, formerly Stacy Crase, is a Holcomb native. In addition to her previous role at the YMCA, Stacy worked for the Finney County Fairgrounds. She has an associate’s degree in Science from Garden City Community College.

Castoe lives in Garden City with her husband, Chris, and sons Keeton Crase, 10, and Cru Castoe, 1.

“Being back at the YMCA feels like being back at home… seeing the familiar faces and being involved in the YMCA,” Castoe said. “I think the Dome— and the variety it brings with it— is going to be a great feature for the YMCA and the community.”
