WKCF Match Day donations top $163,000

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Western Kansas Community Foundation’s inaugaral match day was a huge success. In total 15 non-profits received over $111,000 in donations from 280 donors. That money will be matched with a $50,000 match pool and over $2,000 in prize grants from the community foundation to make the total donation over $163,000. Community Foundation Executive Director Conny Bogaard was wowed at the success of the event.

Match day was a part of the annual giving Tuesday and the Community foundation hopes to participate again in the future. The total donations for each non-profit organization are listed below (but minus the prize grants):

Finney County Historical Society – $ 4,321.77
Finney County Humane Society – $ 17,389.61
Finney County Public Library- $ 3,206.15

Garden City Arts – $ 2,830.03
Garden City Family YMCA – $ 50,059.28
High Plains Public Radio -$ 6,498.33
Miles of Smiles -$ 10,987.02
Russell Child Development Center -$ 7,545.71
St. Catherine Hospital’s Benincasa Hospitality House – $ 5,850.11
