Wet roads to blame in early morning Gray County accident
Gray County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A two-vehicle accident took place early Wednesday morning in Gray County. The accident occurred just after 1 a.m., five miles west of Kansas Highway 23 on U.S. Highway 50.
According to the Kansas Highway Report, a 2016 Toyota Camry driven by 29-year-old Oswaldo Ramirez-Rivera of Los Angeles, California was westbound on when he crossed the center line from loss of control in the rain, and struck a 2009 Ford Flex driven by 33-year-old Carlos Padron-Diaz of Narania, Florida, who was eastbound on U.S. Highway 50.
Ramirez-Rivera, Padron-Diaz, and passenger in the Padron-Diaz vehicle, 52-year-old Maria Diaz-Garcia of Dodge City, were taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital for suspected serious injuries. According to the KHP report, Ramirez-Rivera was the lone person wearing a seatbelt.
