Watson: Education Needs to Be Flexible For Individual Student

Scott City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The State’s Commissioner of Education Doctor Randy Watson was in Scott City on Monday talking to teachers about thinking outside the box to reach the small percentage of children who for whatever reason are unmotivated and uninspired. Watson poses this difficult question.

Watson feels acknowledgement that everyone is different can be a powerful first step.

In keeping with the focus of his presentation, Watson says four years of college is not for everybody.

It does not mean two years of community college would not prove beneficial to some. Dr. Watson also wants children to explore potential career fields earlier in life.

Watson is expect to make stops in both Garden City and Dodge City soon. We will let you know when those dates are announced.
