Warning About Phone Scam, Check Points Announced
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Police are advising people that a phone scam is going on where the caller says they have kidnapped their child or family member. GCPD asks that you not wire any money, but instead check on the person in question. Officers believe you will find this person is alright. Anyone who upon verification believes the call is legitimate should call police immediately.
Officers in Finney County will also have a sobriety checkpoint Saturday night at an undisclosed location looking for impaired drivers. Police will do all they can to minimize disruptions, so that people can clear the checkpoint quickly.
