Walter K. Miller III
Walter K. Miller III, 74, died March 23, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on September 14, 1940 at Dodge City, Kansas the son of Walter K. III and Ardine (Bailes) Miller.
He worked as a security guard for the Kansas Soldiers Home at Ft. Dodge for over 20 years before retiring on July 1, 2004. Mr. Miller was a faithful supporter of the St. Joseph Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. He enjoyed working with leather, watching John Wayne movies and living the cowboy lifestyle.
He was a member of the Heaven Bound Cowboy Church in Dodge City.
Survivors include three sons Roger Shawn Miller of Ford, Kansas; Larry Lee Miller of Hutchinson, Kansas and Jim Miller of Ensign, Kansas; one daughter Jonita Bodey of Potwin, Kansas as well as 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Memorial Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Walter K. Miller III Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
