Visit with Santa Offers More For Parents Than Kids
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Thursday night kids had a chance to take their pictures with Santa at Beeson Elementary, but the event was more than a photo op. Instead it was a reach out effort for parents of children with autism.
Kimberly Peterson is an early childhood special education teacher and stresses why parents of autistic children can find strength in shared experiences.
The hope is the support group can have more events like this to help tell parents of autistic children that they are here and someone cares.
