Victims of killed pedestrians by train identified in Liberal
Liberal, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Kansas Highway Patrol has released the names of the pedestrians killed on Sunday night in Liberal, as a result of a pedestrian-train accident.
According to the KHP report, the accident occurred just after 8 p.m. Sunday night, when a Union Pacific train struck 61-year-old Adam J. Flores of Bangor, Maine, was pushing 42-year-old Deanna M. Flores, also of Bangor Maine, in a wheelchair at Western Avenue near U.S. Highway 54 and Seward County Road 3. They attempted to cross the railroad crossing while the crossing arms were down and the warning signals were active.
The engineer and train conductor were not injured.
