Veronica “Roni” Garcia,
Veronica “Roni” Garcia, age 65, died March 13, 2014 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born May 6, 1948 at Garden City, the daughter of Mike and Helen (Guerrero) Orozco. Veronica married Lencho Garcia on September 28, 1964 at Garden City Kansas.
Veronica was a lifetime Garden City resident. She attended St. Mary Catholic School and Garden City Public Schools. She worked at IBP for 21 years in the processing department. Her hobbies included playing softball, volleyball, dancing (the twist), fishing, and bowling. Veronica was a member of St Mary Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-Joshua Garcia, and 2 brothers- Steven and Patrick Orozco.
Survivors include her husband, Lencho Garcia of the Home; 1 daughter, Charlotte Gomez of Garden City, KS; 5 sons, Richard Garcia of Garden City, KS, Giles Garcia of Lawrence KS, Vincent Garcia of Garden City, KS, Lawrence Garcia of Fowler, KS, Alan Garcia of McCook, NE; 1 brother, Danny Orozco of Garden City; 1 sister, Diana Martinez of Garden City; 32 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday March 15, and 12:00 PM to 5:00 pm Sunday March 16, 2014. , at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am on Monday, March 17, 2014 at St Mary Catholic Church with Father Charles Seiwert officiating.
Interment: Valley View Cemetery.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday March 16, 2014 at St Mary Catholic Church.
Memorials may be given to the Veronica Garcia Memorial Fund.
