Vera M. Stauth, 90, died November 30, 2015 at the Shepherd’s Center in Cimarron. She was born on February 4, 1925 at Stafford County, Kansas the daughter of John Lee and Laura E. (Webring) Brock. 

She grew up in Gray County north of Ensign and graduated from Ensign High School. On July 24, 1943 she married Bill Arden Stauth and enjoyed their marriage for 58 years. Vera worked for Western Power Company of Dodge City as a bookkeeper, Cimarron Insurance Company and was a city clerk for the City of Ensign for a period of time. Vera enjoyed sewing, crafts, traveling and reading.  

She was a member of the Church of Christ of Dodge City, Ensign Home Relief and Pairs and Squares Square Dance Club. 

Vera is survived by two sons, Ted Stauth and fiance Sue Weems, Wichita and Tony and wife Kay Stauth, Cimarron; three daughters, Jane and husband Alan Eskam, Cimarron, Kay and husband Casey Lacy, Ft. Garland, Colorado, Lora Goff and husband Walter, Ensign three sisters, Marie Hammit, Wichita Eleanor Thompson, Salina and Doneva Lubbers, Evergreen, Colorado; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bill on May 13, 2001. 

Funeral service will be held at Cimarron United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 10:30 A. M. with Rev. Mike Keating presiding. Burial will follow at Ensign Cemetery in Ensign. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Cimarron, on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to Mountain States Children’s Home or Cimarron Over 50 Center in care of the funeral home.
