The world is a little less joyful today, April 24, 2016, with the loss of our dear Butch Creamer aka Granny Go Go.
Butch was an amazing woman who lived life to its fullest and her grace is an example for all to live by. Never a harsh word or judgment of others. She was a snappy dresser and always looked beautiful with her matching outfits, shoes, lipstick, and earrings. She taught us how to be ladies.
Butch was 92 years young upon her death. She was the youngest of 12 children born to Peat and Bessie Von den Hemel on July 2, 1923. She survived all of her siblings and their spouses to be the last living member of the immediate Peat and Bessie family. She married her lifelong love James Theodore “Jay” Creamer on February 19, 1940. They were blessed with their only daughter Loretta Kay (Creamer) Bearce, who was born April 6, 1941.
Jay Creamer preceded Butch in death on August 31, 2002. Butch is survived by her daughter, Loretta and her husband Vernon Bearce now living in Dodge City; her four grandchildren; Paige Bearce-Beery and Brian Beery (grandson-in-law) of Oakland, California, Angie Bearce Blair of Lawrence, Kansas, Becki Bearce Andrews of Liberal, Kansas and Chris Bearce of Kansas City, Missouri; her great-grandchildren, Chandra Andrews of Wichita, Kansas, Chelsea and Sheldon Pipkin (great-grandson in-law) of Spring Hill, Kansas, Hunter Blair, Bailee Blair and Max Bearce of Lawrence, Kansas; her great-great-grandbabies, Draven, Brodie and Amaya Pipkin of Spring Hill, Kansas; Gary Wilkerson, her great-nephew, who is like a brother to Loretta, and many beloved nieces and nephews nationally.
Butch had a fabulous life with her husband, Jay, and cherished her family and many friends. We loved her. She will be missed by entire communities in Southwest Kansas who loved her immensely including Johnson, Manter, Ulysses and her new family of friends at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas.
In memory of Butch you are welcome to send flowers to the funeral service being held Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Manter Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Courtney officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas.
