USD 457: Jennie Wilson Elementary School to hold Ag Day
GARDEN CITY, Kan. — Jennie Wilson Elementary School will hold an Ag Day on Friday, May 10th. Beginning at 8:35 a.m., students will be able to view and learn about various animals, their care and how they are raised. Animals are provided by the Dennison family who will be on hand to talk to students and answer any questions they may have about the animals.
Anderson Road will be closed by the school from 12:45-3:30 p.m. that day so students can be introduced to various pieces of farming equipment. The Oyler family will be presenting a combine, grain cart and semi along with other equipment from John Deere, Case and Ford. Students will get a hands on view of how large these pieces of equipment are and what they are used for on a farm.
All of the activities will bring a close to a year-long agriculture science curriculum that has offered students a look into the importance of agriculture in our community.
The event is made possible with the support of the Farm Bureau Association.
