USD 457 honors retirees and long-time employees

Garden City Public Schools honored long-time employees on Wednesday, May 23^rd, at a Board of Education Staff Recognition Dinner held in the Commons Area at Garden City High School. Each year Garden City Public Schools proudly salutes all of its retiring employees and those who continue to serve the district after 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service.

For many, their service to the district and students has lasted decades – allowing them to hone their skills, to mentor their colleagues and to be leaders in their professions.

This year, 16 employees retired from Garden City Public Schools with a combined total of 312 years of service. Also this year, 124 employees were recognized for their longevity with the district. Those retiring from the district include: Phil Keidel (8 years), Debbie Amos (10 years), Dalene Summers – Musgrove (10 years), Penny Douglass (11 years), Sherry Irsik (11 years), Dena Purdy (15 years), Lisa Dasenbrock (17 years), Joyce Virgil (18 years), Valerie Rainman (20 years), Richard Banner (24 years), Sidni Musick (26 years), Joanne Nelson (26 years), Terry Powell (26 years), Mark Ronn (28 years), Anthony Inthavongsa (29 years), and Leigh Ann Roderick (33 years).
