USD 457 Board receives positive audit report

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Garden City Board of Education held their meeting Monday night. The board heard a positive audit report according to Public Inormation Director Roy Cessna.

The report also touted taxes on a home in Garden City that are paid to schools, as one of the cheapest compared to 15 similar sized communities.

The board also heard a report from communities and schools about the number of programs the schools have to help students be productive citizens. 87 percent of the students in the program show improvement and 100 percent graduate that are in the program.

The board also approved the long range facility plan and different capital improvement projects. The transportation department reported that they are getting students to time at a better rate this year and that 90 percent of students are arriving on time.
