Unemployment decreases across Kansas

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Preliminary estimates reported by the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) show a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 3.6 percent in October. This was down from 3.8 percent in September and down from 4.3 percent in October 2016.

Every county decreased it’s unemployment number from October 2016. Finney was down 0.9 percent to 2.1 percent. Ford County was down 1 percent to 2.2 percent. Gray County had the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 1.4 percent. Seward County was the highest in southwest Kansas at 2.9 percent.
