Uncertainty Remains About Severity of Weather This Winter

(westernkansasnews.com) The weather is nice in Southwest Kansas, but already there are longterm forecast out about what we might face this winter.  Assistant State Climatologist Mary Knapp with K-State says it all depends on how El Nino and the warmer waters in the Pacific affect weather patterns.

 

To complicate matter NOAA or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration models differ on what they are telling meteorologist.

What about how much moisture? Assistant State Climatologist Mary Knapp with K-State takes a look for us.

It is important to note since typically our area does not receive a lot of moisture to have any amount above normal would be welcome relief for farmers.
