Ulysses wins the GWAC Volleyball Tournament

Goodland, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–After going 5-0 in their two Great West Activities Conference quadrangulars, the Ulysses Tigers had the upper hand on the rest of the league to return to the top of the league. Saturday’s GWAC Tournament at Goodland was a repeat performance, as the Tigers tame the field, going 5-0 on the day.

While they went undefeated on Saturday, Ulysses went to three sets just once, and were pushed in one other match. It was their fifth league title in six years. Colby ended up finishing second, followed by Holcomb, Scott City, Hugoton and Goodland.

Sub-State play will take place on Saturday. Ulysses will host the Class 4A, Division I Sub-State, while Hugoton will host the Class 4A, Division II Sub-State, Holcomb heads to the Hugoton sub-state, while Colby, Goodland and Scott City will be in the Class 3A sub-state tournament at TMP-Marian.
