Ulysses ranked one of the safest cities in Kansas

Ulysses, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Ulysses has been named one of the safest cities in Kansas by SafeWise.

SafeWise ranked the 20 safest cities in Kansas by reviewing the most recent FBI Crime Report from 2015. Cities with fewer than 4,000 residents and those that failed to submit complete crime reports were eliminated.

The rankings were based on the number of violent and property crimes in each city and the likelihood of those crimes occurring out of 1,000 people in each city. 

Ulysses was ranked number nine up four spots from the last ranking. The numbers for Ulysses were.65 violent crimes per 1,000 people and 13.81 property crimes per 1,000 people. Bel Aire was ranked the safest city in the state. Check out the full list here.
