Two Dead, Several More Injured in Weekend Accidents
(westernkansasnews.com) State troopers report a fatality accident Saturday morning shortly after 11 on US281 and US 50 neat St. John. Three vehicles collided with each other when the driver of a Ford Escort from St. Louis failed to yield. The passenger in that car was 87 year old Marjorie Bice of Plainville. She later died at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
A head on collision in Morton County Friday afternoon around six resulted in a fatality on US 56, seven miles west of Rolla. The driver Ivan Perkins of Rolla was driving in a Pontiac Montana and collided with a semi in drifting into the other lane.
A 54 year old woman was injured in an accident Monday on US 283, seven miles north of Ness City. The wreck shortly after 5pm came when the driver of a 1995 GMC Suburban, Tanza Cox of Dodge City went into a ditch and then overcorrected causing a rollover. She has been taken to Ness County Hospital for her injuries.
A two car accident took place Sunday night after 10 when two vehicles collided at the K156 and Mary Street intersection. State troopers report 62 year old Rosa Maria Rutiaga failed to yield and knocked into another car. Rutiaga’s passengers a 6, 7, 8 year old girl were injured in the accident and were taken to St. Catherine Hospital. The driver of the other car and her passenger suffered only minor injuries.
