GARDEN CITY, Kan. — The Board of Trustees for Garden City Community College unanimously voted to approve the employment contract for newly named President of Garden City Community College, Dr. Ryan Ruda, during a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 12. The negotiated contract between Dr. Ruda and the Board is a three-year rolling contract with a yearly salary of $150,000 plus benefits.
Dr. Ruda made a statement after the unanimous approval of the contract. He said, “I welcome and embrace the opportunity to work, not only with the Board, but with the Faculty, Staff, and Administration on working together with the common vision of growing the community college. I very much embrace the opportunity to take Garden City, which is very near and dear to my heart, and the community college forward.”
Dr. Ruda and the Board also formally welcomed newly appointed Vice-President of Student Services, Colin Lamb, into his position. Dr. Ruda announced Lamb as the Vice-President for Student Services on March 4, after the GCCC Administrative team determined it to be in the best interest of the college to split Dr. Ruda’s previous role, the Vice-President for Student Services and Instruction position, into two. The position of Vice-President for Instructional Services is currently vacant and open for applications.
Garden City Community College exists to produce positive contributors to the economic and social well-being of society.
