Tractor-Trailer Accident in Scott County Arkansas Man to Hospital
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Two semi tractor-trailer’s collide Thursday afternoon four miles west of the U.S. Highway 83/Kansas Highway 96 junction in Scott County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol report, 39-year old Robert Andre Lewis of Maumelle Pulaski, Arkansas was traveling eastbound in a 2002 Freightliner Truck on Kansas Highway 96 at around 12:37 pm, when he stopped to make a lefthand turn. As Pulaski was making a lefthand turn, a 1999 Kenworth Truck driven by 51-year old Gilberto Retamoza-Guzman of Scott City attempted to pass Lewis on the left side and struck the front left bumper, proceeded to go onto the right hand shoulder and continued to go down the right hand shoulder. Lewis was taken to Scott County Hospital with possible injuries, while passenger, 38-year old Phillip Paul Espinoza of Garden City was not injured. Retamoza-Guzman was uninjured as well. Everyone involved were wearing seatbelts, according to the Highway Patrol Report.
