Tim Gottschalk

Tim Gottschalk, 67 of Garden City, Kansas died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born February 4, 1946 in Garden City the son of Aloysius C. & Verona (Cannon) Gottschalk.

Tim grew up in Garden City and attended Garden City Schools. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1964. Tim then attended Regis College in Denver, Colorado. On July 17, 1966 he married Karensue Unger in Garden City. Tim worked for more than thirty five years at Unger’s Heating & Air Conditioning. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching Wheel of Fortune, horseback riding, and traveling to Colorado. He loved his dog Riley, and was an avid Denver Broncos Fan.

Survivors include his companion Lori Welch of Garden City; two daughters Nikki Gottschalk of Garden City and Natalie Bruno of Boulder, Colorado; two brothers James Gottschalk and Thomas Gottschalk both of Arvada, Colorado; and five grandchildren. Tim is preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother Muriel Gottschalk; a son Andrew Timothy Gottschalk; a brother Robert Gottschalk; and a sister Carol Wasinger.

A vigil service and rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Garnand Funeral home in Garden City.

The family requests memorials given to Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.

Garden City with Fr. Charles Seiwert officiating.

Interment: Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
