Three Finney County Teachers Receive Coveted Crystal Apple Award
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Three teachers have been named Finney County’s best teachers by a select panel and received the distinction by receiving a Crystal Apple in an award sponsored by the Garden City Chamber of Commerce.
The three teachers are Jesse Bernal, Garden City High School; Barbara Mercer, Buffalo Jones Elementary School and Roger Reed, Charles O. Stones Intermediate Center. The teachers were recognized at a banquet held Thursday night at the Clarion Inn in Garden City.
Each Crystal Apple Teacher received a $1,000 cash award; they also received an engraved crystal apple and an iPad.
