Theresa C. Barragree
Theresa C. Barragree, 87, died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Via Christi Ridge, Wichita.
She was born February 2, 1928 at Spearville, Kansas, the daughter of Adolph and Anna (Durler) Steimel. She was a graduate of Spearville High School and a lifetime area resident. She was a homemaker and for many years a day care provider. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She devoted much of her time to children. They were her life’s compassion.
She was a very active member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City.
On August 17, 1948 she married Joseph F. Barragree at Spearville, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1999.
Survivors include: 6 children, Barbara Krasuski, Rose Hill, Kansas, Gene Barragree and wife Susan, Kansas City, Kansas, Ron Barragree and wife Leona, Canon City, Colorado, Kathryn Milhon and husband Darrell, Bartley, Nebraska, Doris Vogel and husband Eric, Maize, Kansas and Dave Barragree and wife Becky, Andale, Kansas; a sister, Bertha Woodard and husband Algean, Wichita; 28 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Herman, Al, Ray and Louis Steimel, 2 sisters, Florence Feldman and Agnes Zoth and a son-in-law, Kim Krasuski.
Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday at the church with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City. Visitation will be from noon to 5:00 pm Monday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart School Endowment in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
