Tempel Takes MVP in Shrine Bowl Football Game
Pittsburg, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Pittsburg State hosted the annual Shrine Bowl all-star football game on Saturday night with former Garden City standout quarterback Greyson Tempel winning MVP throwing for 183 yards and two touchdowns in the West 21-6 win over the East. After struggling in the first half, Tempel settled in and was on his game when it counted.
Tempel will be playing on the same field at Pittburg State this fall. West head coach Steve Martin was pleased with his star player’s turnaround performance.
The West has won eight of the last nine Shrine Bowl games. Next year’s contest is in Hays.
