Suspect Identified After Threats Directed at GCHS Students

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Classes were held Friday at Garden City High School under an increased law enforcement presence after a threat was discovered on social media.  The threat was made toward other students at the high school.

Police have identified a 16 year old boy as the person they believe wrote the threatening message. He is in protective custody. No other information was made available as the investigation continues.  School officials and law enforcement continue to stress their belief that the students attending the high school are safe and keeping them safe is their top priority.

Classes will go as scheduled for Monday as well with a heightened security presence.
