Garden City Public Schools continues to provide nutritious Grab and Go meals to children and youth age 18 and under each Monday through Thursday. The lunches will be provided through the end of July, with a scheduled break in meal service the week of July 6th – 10th.  The Grab and Go meals will resume normal hours on July 13th

Changes will be made to some locations for the distribution of meals beginning June 29th.  Schools providing Grab and Go meals from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. include: Abe Hubert Elementary School, Buffalo Jones Elementary, Edith Scheuerman Elementary, Florence Wilson Elementary, Jennie Wilson Elementary, Victor Ornelas Elementary School, and Garden City High School.

There will also be a number of locations where the district will have school busses in the community for families to go to get meals.  The times and locations include:

10:15 – 11:30 a.m. at Acosta Trailer Park, 2601 W. Mary Street, and Wagon Wheel, 1402 Boots Road.

10:15 – 10:45 a.m. at Plymel Trailers, 800 Mimosa Rd, H&H Trailers, 4103 E. Hwy 50, and Mansfield Trailers, 5800 Mansfield Rd.

11:00 – 11:30 a.m. at Burnside Frontage, 400 Burnside Rd., Farmland Road, 50 Farmland Rd., and Towns Riverview, 6000 Water Hole Drive.

The meals will be delivered curbside at the locations.  For the safety of those getting the meals and the safety of the workers, please do not exit the vehicle when picking up the meals.  Parents can use the mirror tags that they had during the school year for the Grab-and-Go lunches to pickup the food.  Children may also walk to the locations to receive the bagged food.

The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is an equal opportunity provider.  The last day for Grab and Go meals for the summer will be July 30th to allow for Nutrition Services staff to prepare for the start of the 2020-21 school year.
