Statewide Unemployment Continues to Fall
(westernkansasnews.com) Positive news for the economy in Kansas. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped from 4.3 percent in December to 4.1 percent for January. Emily Dierksen is Labor Economist with the Kansas Department of Labor and says the accomplishment is quite significant because it is the lowest level in fifteen years. Still it is not all good news. The state lost 2,400 non-farm sector jobs last year.
