State AG Hands Out Community Service Grants

(westernkansasnews.com) State Attorney General Derek Schmidt has announced grants totaling 62-thousand dollars to Family Crisis Services of Garden City supporting programs it has in place to help victims of crime.  The money will help those who have been victims of domestic violence in addition to help with oversight of programs already administered by the agency.

Dodge City service organizations including Court Appointed Special Advocate or CASA, along with the Crisis Center of Dodge City to help domestic violence victims and Meadowlark Child Advocacy Center have received an overall grant from the State AG totaling 61-thousand dollars.

Schmidt has also announced 39-thousand dollars in grants to the Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center in helping with services for children who are abused and serving victims of human trafficking.  The grants are part of 2.2 million dollars distributed statewide to help with these types of programs serving the community.
