St. Catherine: New Hires Must Be Tobacco Free

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Beginning next year St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City,part of the Centura Health Network, will have an added requirement for any new employee.

Kathy Morrison, Executive Director of Human Resources at St. Catherine says an applicant that fails the cotinine test for tobacco can still be hired.

Those already on staff are exempted from the new policy.  Harrison believes this new policy makes good financial sense.

New hires would only have to pass the cotinine test once. This policy does not affect current hospital staff.
