Six Buffaloes make All-WAC softball squad
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-One of the most successful seasons in school history definitely did not go unnoticed.
On Wednesday, Garden City’s Trina Moquett was named the Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
Moquett guided the Buffaloes to a 20-3 record; a WAC title and a second state tournament appearance in the past three seasons. The Buffaloes lost to eventual state champion Olathe South in the opening round.
Her starting pitcher Abbie Dart was named the player of the year. The junior was a sensational 18-3 in the circle, with 226 strikeouts and an ERA of .582.
Her teammates Alyssa Long, Jenna Greenlee, Jordan Terrones, Laura Farmer and Shai Cartmill all landed on the first team with Kaci Finch, Rylee Crawford and Erykah Foster earning honorable mention.
