Sims weighs in on out-of-state proposal (Audio)
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-It’s been a rule that’s been in place since 1962. But since its inception, the out-of-state limit for football in the Jayhawk Conference has gone through a major overhaul.
Four years ago, the league voted to increase the number of out-of-state athletes from 12 to 20. Fast forward to 2016, and a new proposal that would increase that number to 30 is now on the table.
But it comes with a distinct stipulation: those extra 10 recruits can only come from border states-Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri and Colorado.
