Sierra Club States Their Case In Lawsuit Over Holcomb Power Plant

state-flag-kansas

Holcomb, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The proposed Sunflower Electric coal fired power plant in Holcomb is on hold again after the Sierra Club of Kansas sued the State Department of Health and Environment over the re-issue of an air control quality permit.  Sierra Club Energy and Legal Chair Bill Griffith thinks in some ways we are running in circles.

Griffith believes the timing has created controversy too.

Griffith is convinced the new regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency will leave coal fired facilities on their last legs.

 Griffith suggests.

Griffith also believes wind will increase in viability as policies force coal to become less available.   No court date has been announced.
