Seward County Men & Women Picked to Win Jayhawk West Conference
Wichita, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Seward County Saints have been picked to win the Jayhawk West Division in the KJCCC Preseason Coaches Poll released Monday at the KJCCC/Verizon Wireless Basketball Press Conference in Wichita.
On the Men’s side, Dodge City was predicted to finish fifth and Garden City sixth. Both the Conqs and Busters will have new coaches for the 2012-13 seasons. Kyle Campbell takes over at Dodge City for Brady Trinkle, while Rand Chappell replaces Kris Baumann at Garden City. Coffeyville was picked to win the Jayhawk East, followed by Cowley.
For the Women, Garden City was slated to finish second and Dodge City was predicted eighth. The Lady Busters were runners-up in the 2011-12 campaign to Hutchinson, while the Lady Conquistadors finished ninth a year ago. Cowley was picked to win the Jayhawk East, and Independence was selected second in the preseason poll.
The first day of competition is Thursday, November 1.
