Sense of Relief: Legislature Keeps Support of Star Bonds
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) One controversial project using a Star Bond in Kansas City, Kansas sparked discussion by legislators of eliminating Star Bonds as part of spurring economic growth. Lona DuVall President of the Finney County Economic Development Corporation is thankful the idea did not get much traction.
Although we have not heard anything lately the Star Bond between Garden City and Sporting KC for a soccer training facility is still in its the planning stages.
Law requires the city to begin acting on the Star Bond by early next year. The plan is to develop 275 acres on the east side of town.
