Senator Love Knows Energy Hit Has Taken Toll on State Revenue

Montezuma, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Its no secret revenue is down in the state of Kansas and in order to fill a 800 million dollar shortfall this session the legislature had to make a series of spending cuts and tax increases. State Senator Garrett Love of Montezuma has talked with people who are experiencing this slow down first hand.

 

Slower production in energy is wearing down on the state’s tax base.

Energy is second only to agriculture as leading industries for the state of Kansas.
