Scott City’s Vulgamore signs with K-State Track & Field
Scott City, Kan. (weseternkansasnews.com)–Going to college to compete in track wasn’t on the mind for Camden Vulgamore right away. Let alone, competing in multiple events.
On signing day November 13, Camden Vulgamore was able to sign his letter of intent to compete in track & field collegiately at Kansas State University.
Vulgamore caught the eye of several college coaches last spring, as whe won the 400-meter dash in Class 4A in a time of :48.07, which shattered his personal best and Scott City school record. Not only has he been an outstanding 400-meter runner, Vulgamore is solid in the pole vault, taking third in Class 4A.
At K-State he is slated compete in the heptathlon during the indoor season, and the decathlon in the outdoor season. The heptathlon consists of the 60-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1000-meter run. In the decathlon, events include the 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and 1500-meter run.
He fell in love with the K-State track & field program, and chose the Wildcats over Michigan State, Iowa State and Princeton.
