Scott City’s Kite heading to Shrine Bowl–Audio
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Scott Community High School graduate Drew Kite is the latest of Scott City Beaver football players to participate in the annual Shrine Bowl.
Kite becomes the 24th player from Scott City to be in the Kansas Shrine Bowl, to be played on Saturday, July 27 at Yager Stadium in Topeka. In 2012, he caught 30 passes for 571 yards and had 12 touchdowns as a tight end, including the game winning catch in the Class 3A State Championship game. At linebacker, he had 147 total tackles, with five sacks and two interceptions.
Scott City has had selections in each of the past five seasons. Ron Baker was selected in 2011, but was unable to play in the game.
