Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–It has been a big turnaround over the last three seasons for the Scott City Lady Beaver volleyball program. Following three consecutive losing seasons, the 2016 season saw the Lady Beavers improve by 20 games in the win colum. The leader of the program, who has not only been a player in the system, but a head coach over the past three years will be stepping down. Megan Gentry submitted her resignation as Scott City’s head volleyball coach last week, due to family reasons.

Under Gentry’s tenure, Scott City went 5-27 in 2014 to 27-10 in 2016, finishing second in the Great West Activities Conference, and were a match away from qualifying for the Class 4A, Division II State Tournament.

Gentry’s resignation will be set to be approved at the May 15 Board of Education meeting. She will still teach 5th grade at Scott City Middle School.
