Scott City’s Apodaca signs with Kansas Wesleyan
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–One of the steadiest track and cross country runners over the past few years for Scott City is taking his talents to the next level.
On Wednesday, Roberto Apodaca made it official and signed his letter of intent to run cross country and track at Kansas Wesleyan University.
The Scott City senior has had a good season so far, as he placed 11th in the Class 3A State Cross Country meet this past October, leading the Beavers to a third place finish. On the track, he has shown success in the 1600M Run, and also as a member of the 4x800M Relay team, as they continue to improve on their times from the beginning of the year.
He was also part of the state championship track team in 2019, as one of the legs on the state placing 4x800M Relay.
Apodaca chose Kansas Wesleyan over Bethany and Bethel, where he will major in sports management.
Kansas Wesleyan is coached by Kyle Hiser, who not only is the head track coach, but also is the head coach for the cross country program in Salina.
