Scott City wrestling places sixth in Lexington
Lexington, Neb. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City wrestling team competed in their toughest tournament of the season on Saturday at the John Higgins Invitational in Lexington. Despite the field being cut to 10 teams this year, the competition was solid, as the Beavers would take home sixth place as a team.
Beatrice won the meet, followed by Gering and North Platte.
Individually, Gabe Bowers remained undefeated as he took the title at 285 pounds. Kale Wheeler place third at 160, while Zach Rohrbough was fourth at 132, Connor Armendariz was fourth at 145, and Alonso Frances was fourth at 195.
Scott City will have a dual at Cimarron on Tuesday, before competing in the GWAC Tournament at Goodland on Friday.
