Scott City wrestling finishes fourth in Lexington

Lexington, Neb. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City wrestling team took to the mats for a second consecutive day in Lexington, Nebraska on Saturday, as part of the field that competed at the annual John Higgins Invitational. It would be a good day for Scott City in a tough field, as they placed fourth out of 16 teams.

Bennington won the meet with 157.5 points, edging Hastings by a point, as they had 156.5 points and Norfolk was third with 143. Scott City finished with 141.5 points.

The Beavers took home three first place finishes, including Kaden Wren at 138, Justus McDaniel at 145, and Gabe Bowers at 285.

Scott City will now have a week off before wrestling at the annual Rocky Welton Invitational in Garden City next Friday and Saturday, January 31 and February 1.
