Scott City woman killed in car accident south of Hoxie
SHERIDAN COUNTY, Kan. — A Scott City woman was killed in an accident on Thursday evening near Hoxie in northwest Kansas.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on K-23 four miles south of Hoxie.
A 1999 semi-truck driven by 49-year-old Johan Harder, of Canada was heading southbound on K-23 when a 2012 Chevy Camaro driven by 84-year-old Betty Eisenhour, of Scott City struck the semi. The semi had moved over so that it could clear the bridge, but Eisenhour’s vehicle which was headed northbound hit the drivers side of the semi and spun counter clockwise into the ditch.
Harder was taken to the Logan County Hospital with no apparent injuries. Eisenhour was taken from the scene to Mickey Leopold Funeral Home in Hoxie. Both Harder and Eisenhour were wearing a seat belt according to the KHP.
