Scott City wins GWAC All-Sports Trophy
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–For the third consecutive year, the Scott City Beaver athletic program laid claim to the Great Weat Activities Conference All-Sports trophy.
Points are awarded by how each sport does in the league standings during the season. Only the boys and girls tennis seasons are not included in the standings, due to only three schools having the sport. The points are similar to a track meet scoring, using the 10-8-6-4-2-1 format.
Scott City finished with 97 points, which was the highest total by any trophy winner in the nine years of the GWAC. The Beavers won five league titles this year. Colby finished second for a second consecutive year, with 91 points. Ulysses was third with 77 points, followed by Hugoton with 51, Goodland 45.5 and Holcomb 31.5.
