Scott City Volleyball Goes 2-2 in Liberal
Liberal, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City Lady Beaver volleyball squad wrapped up a busy week in Liberal on Saturday in the Liberal Invitational. Scott City assured themselves of going at least .500 for the week. They would go 2-2 on Saturday, and missed making the semi-finals on a tiebreaker.
The Lady Beavers started off the morning with a competitive match with the host team Liberal, but fell in straight sets 25-14, 25-23. A quick turnaround for Scott City saw them face league foe Hugoton. It would be a win for the Lady Beavers against the Lady Eagles in straight sets 25-16, 25-20, their third win on the year against GWAC foes. They would face another league foe in Ulysses, who beat Scott City in four sets nine days ago. Once again, the Lady Tigers would prevail in straight sets 25-18, 25-20. In their final pool competition of the day, Scott City faces Elkhart, and took care of the Lady Wildcats 25-18, 25-16.
Despite a 2-2 day, Scott City finished the week at 7-3 and are now 9-4 on the season, and will travel to Southwestern Heights for a Triangular Thursday against the Lady Mustangs and Cimarron.
