Scott City tennis notches tournament title in Hoisington
Great Bend, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City tennis team picked up their second tournament win of the year on Thursday at the Hoisington Invitational, held in Great Bend.
Three of the four entries finished at the top, which propelled them to 51 points. Haven finished second with 43 points and Hoisington was third with 30 points.
Joe Evans picked up another undefeated day at No. 1 Singles, going 6-0 in the seven-team tournament. William Cupp at No. 2 Singles also went 6-0 on the day and took first place. The No. 2 Doubles team of Chase Cupp/Porter Irwin went 6-0 and took home the top spot. In No. 1 Doubles, the team of Miles Haire/Christian Wright went finished in fourth place, and went 2-3 on the day.
The regular season concludes with two meets coming up. They are at the Colby Invitational today and will host the Scott City Invitational on Monday.
