Wichita, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City boys tennis team closed out their season on Friday at the Class 3-2-1A State Tennis meet in Wichita at Riverside Tennis Complex. They had to deal with delays throughout the day, as mother nature delayed the start, and then forced a pause during the day.

At Singles, Avry Noll would go 1-2 on the day. He fell to Maxwell Bieker of Smoky Valley 6-3, 6-2 to start the day, but bounced back with a 9-4 win over Evan Foltz of Hoisington. In his final match of the day, he fell one match away from placing in the top 12 in the state, in a 9-1 loss to Max Kice of Wichita Classical. He finishes his season at 20-11.

The Doubles team of Dylan Duff/Sage Stoecklein would go 0-2, dropping their first match of the day Nathan Ringwald/Giovanni Battistoni from Ellinwood 7-5, 7-5, and lost to Karter Beck/Michael Menges of Central Plains 9-4. They finish their year at 19-8.

The three state qualifiers for the Beavers were all freshman, and they were three of just eight freshman that qualified for the state tournament.
